Offaly Cross Country Athletics Competition

On Friday the 30th of September, over 30 boys and girls from 3rd – 6th class took part in the Offaly Cross Country Athletics competition. It was an extremely successful day for us, coming home with 5 medals: Nathan from 5thclass finished in the top ten in the 850 metres race and our 6th class boys team of Cian, Josh, Mark and Mason placing 3rd overall in their 850 metres competition. Well done to all the boys and girls who ran so well, it was a very enjoyable day for all involved.

On Thursday 18th September boys and girls from Scoil Bhríde travelled to Tullamore to take part in the Offaly Cross Country  Athletics competition.  Over thirty boys and girls from 3rd to 6th class competed on the day with everyone performing exceptionally well but the performance of the day came from Mark  who ran an outstanding race to place second in the 6th Class Boys competition. A huge well done to Mark and all the boys and girls who ran so well on the day.

 

Baseline Fitness Report for Primary Schools

In association with Offaly Sports Partnership, pupils at Scoil Bhríde participated in an initiative involving schools from across Offaly in compiling  a ‘Baseline Fitness Report’. This involved anonymously collecting data from schools across the county. Many thanks to Eamonn Henry for his involvement in the project
