Our school is working very hard to achieve the Travel Flag. On the 23rd October, every class enjoyed taking part in a Witches Walk. It was spooktacular! Also, a big well done to all students who walked, cycled and scooted to school during Clean Air Week. Prizes were given out to each class – well done everyone! We are also delighted to have launched the No Idling Campaign. We hope you will support this by turning off your engine outside the school.
Early childhood is a time of great opportunity for learning and development. In these early years children
learn through loving, trusting and respectful relationships, and through discussion, exploration and play.
They learn about languages and how and when to use them; they learn to think and to interact with others
and the environment. They learn to be creative and adventurous, to develop working theories about their
world, and to make decisions about themselves as learners.
Aistear: the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework celebrates early childhood as a time of being, and of
enjoying and learning from experiences as they unfold. This early learning also lays important foundations
for later learning. Because early childhood marks the beginning of children’s lifelong learning journeys, this
framework is called Aistear, the Irish word for journey.
Our Infant Classes thoroughly enjoy partaking in Aistear, this months theme is food and children are learning about healthy food, restaurants, shops and lots of other fun food related topics.
In line with recommendations from our school patron, Bishop Denis McNulty, the Board of Management would like to inform parents that applications for enrolment for the 2021/2022 school year will begin on January 14th 2021.
