National School Attendance Campaign (Ireland)
The Irish national attendance campaign is a multimedia initiative launched by the Department of Education and Youth together with Tusla’s Education Support Service (TESS). It’s aim is to highlight the importance of regular school attendance and to remind families that even occasional absences can add up and impact learning, social development, and long-term progress.
A central part of the campaign is the Anseo model, an evidence-based framework that helps schools monitor attendance patterns and respond early when support is needed.

Our Whole-School “Be The Hero” Campaign
At our school, we support the national drive with our own “Be The Hero” attendance campaign. The message is simple: every student can be a hero by coming to school each day and arriving on time.
We run a wide range of initiatives throughout the school to encourage good attendance and punctuality, including in-class initiatives, rewards, recognition at assemblies and regular communication with families. Our aim is to build a positive culture where students feel motivated and proud to attend every day.
